The annual Viking Cup took place last weekend. Â Congratulations to Molly Ingenmey and Tomas Green for winning the Cup in the Laser Radial and Optimist class respectively. A big thank you to our volunteers, Mike Guezen, Nancy Folliott, Daniel Guezen, Â Neal Boyd, Mike Plueschow, Nelson Barrett and Brian Wadsworth from the Gimli YC for helping out on the water with Race Management.
The registration fee isÂ $20 per boat. It includes one Sail Manitoba burgee and one t-shirt. Extra t-shirts are available for $15 and extra burgees for $20.Â A skippers meeting will be held on Sunday, July 5 at 10:00am on the deck of GYCÂ .
The first start on Sunday, July 5 is at 11:00am.Â Seven short course races, no drop race, one race constitutes the series, no race shall be startedÂ after 3:00pm.Â The Awards ceremony will commence immediately after racing

Dinner Saturday Night
Dannyâs Whole Hog will be catering a dinner on Saturday night. Â The dinner tickets are $20 per person and include slow roasted pulled pork, buns,Â coleslaw, baked beans, and potato salad. Drinks are extra. Register in advance at firstname.lastname@example.orgÂ by Wednesday, July 1.

The annual Fish Fly Cup took place on June 14 at the Gimli YC. Â The first race of the Fish Fly Cup regatta established the winner of the Prairie Wind Trophy,which couldn’t be given out last weekend due to lack of wind. Congrats to Anthony Clark and Tomas Green who both won with 7 bullets and were awarded the Fish Fly Cup as well as the Prairie Wind Trophy.
The annual Buffalo Cup was held on Wednesday, June 3 and was attended by 10 sailors. Congrats to our athletes and their crews with James Thompson in first, Gavin Robinson in second, and Linus Schweizer in third place. A big thank you to the Race Committee Chris Aldridge and Jona Green as well as to our coaches Jackie Spear and Willie Macdonald.
