The Big Bird Classic Regatta with the Western Intermediate Sailing Championships and the Youth Olympic Training Seminar saw over 85 boats competing on the weekend. From an event that 5 days ago looked like there were 35-40 boats totaled to an event that had over 80 boats and 140 or so athletes (225 participants), this was Manitoba’s largest sailing event of the year and established a record for PYC. The success of this great regatta was only possible because of a lot of volunteers and partnerships. A big thank you to the race committee with Chris Aldridge as the chair, safety chair Wolfe Smythe and all coaches and parents from Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, who helped to make this event successful.
