On August 5, 1965 at 10:20 am at the old law office of Aikins, MacAulay and Co, in downtown Winnipeg, the Manitoba Sailing Association was officially incorporated and the first president of the Association, Dr. Max Desmarais, was elected. Because of the strength of its member clubs and volunteers, in the past 50 years, Sail Manitoba has grown to become a successful provincial sport governing body. Read more about the history of Sail Manitoba.
We will be celebrating the 50th anniversary with a Homecoming Regatta for Dinghies and Keelboats on July 3 and 4, 2015 at the Gimli YC. Keep an eye on our newsletter for more information on this significant provincial event.
